Darcee Fox: Release Debut Album, Islands

Release Debut Album Islands

'this furious fivesome kick this oftentimes stale genre right in its crusty leathers and knock it face-first into 2017. So pass the rum, because Islands is well worth getting marooned on’ Music Feeds

On April 29, the band held their Official Album Launch at Melbourne’s infamous Cherry Bar. They had a confirmed 310 tickets sold for the show making it officially the third highest selling event in the venue’s history!

Melbourne rock and roll merchants Darcee Fox have just released their long awaited debut album Islands.

Melbourne has always been the spiritual home of Australian rock and roll. While it falls in and out of favour with the ebb and flow of whats cool right now, it never ever goes away.

The last few years have seen a major resurgence in fuel injected, bluesy, rock ’n’roll and Darcee Fox have flicked their cigarettes directly onto the flames.

Forming in 2010 and drawing influence from legendary artists such as Led Zeppelin, Guns n’ Roses, David Bowie & The Rolling Stones, Darcee Fox have become a respected and revered live act within the local Melbourne Rock scene.

Releasing their Snakebite EP in 2012, the band worked hard to put themselves in front of as many people as possible, playing almost every live venue in town and opening for Everclear in front of a sell out crowd.

Work on their debut full length began in 2015 and was finally completed in December 2016 with Producer Ricki Rae from Lighthill Studios at the helm.

Capturing the bands raw spirit as he did with Australian Classic Rock powerhouse, Electric Mary.

Watch the music videos for the 2014 singles Junkyard Queen and Homebound

Both tracks were picked up by Triple M which lead to ever more people catching the Fox live and both songs feature on Islands.

Islands is the sum of its parts. Big riffs, bigger drums, soaring vocal melodies, bleeding solos and foot on the foldback swagger.
It is rock in it’s purest form, you know you want it.

Darcee Fox is best experienced live and they’ll be taking Islands across our island over the coming months
